I started seriously studying cooking in 2016 for two reasons. First, I’ve struggled with weight all of my life and know that weight management comes down to a very function of input and output. Learning to cook gave me control over the input side of those equations. The other reason is that I acquired a taste for gourmet cooking/fine dining while working in high tech and went through a period of time where I had to be very frugal with my spending. Rather than give up this taste, learning to do it myself made it far more accessible plus elevating everything about cooking makes the entire experience more enjoyable.
